Let’s face it, none of us are getting any younger. If we’re not continuing to attract younger audiences to replace the older ones, our customer base will slowly dwindle away.
Sure, you likely have a steady supply of children coming in for birthday parties, but what about teenagers and young adults? Are you keeping them past high school? How does your center appeal to Millenials and Gen Z?
Here are two tips on attracting younger audiences to your center.
Online Reservations – You and I might enjoy a nice little social interaction with the front desk while reserving a lane, but younger generations dislike it. They want to book their lane with their phone (NOT on the phone) and hate calling in.
What kind of online reservations are you currently offering? If you’re like a lot of centers who “don’t do online reservations”, you might be missing out on a ton of new customers and business.
Instagram/TikTok – Believe it or not Instagram is becoming the new Facebook (not just because Facebook owns both). Gen Z sees Instagram as the place the older Millennials hang out. It’s not quite as cool or trendy as it was 5 years ago. And don’t even get us started on Facebook, apparently that’s for old people now.
So if you want to attract a younger audience for the future of your center, you’ll have to go where they are. Believe me, I’m not a fan of TikTok and don’t use it personally. But who cares what I like? That’s where younger people are these days so that’s where we go.
Does your center have an Instagram or TikTok account? How are you getting in front of younger audiences? If you’re wondering why you don’t have as many younger customers as you’d like, look to these two ideas first.
